I don’t really want to say too much about the love of my life on the internet. ( Some things you got to keep private) but I really felt that I should share this.
This past Valentine ’s Day I received the most beautiful and most special gift I have ever received from anyone. A promise ring. No not an engagement ring. Just a promise ring!
Like our parents used to have when there was still such a thing as trying to win and keep her heart. These days it’s all about show, saying I love you in the first week, and breaking up in the third. I don’t mean to brag but I feel that lately it is a very big accomplishment to actually make a relationship work for more than a year. People have changed, times have changed and the words I LOVE YOU is just something we say to make the relationship “mean more”, it is just something for the show.
People always ask me how do you make it work? To be honest there is not just one thing to make it work. It takes hard work, understanding and most important not giving up even when times get hard. But more on how we make it work later.
This ring is so special to me because it shows me everything that I have wondered about. How much does he love me? Does he want to spend the rest of his life with me?
(Just to put you at ease, we have been dating for three years so it is not weird to think about stuff like this)
I wonder what happened to boys treating girls like princesses. What happened to tradition. What happened to couples still giving each other butterflies! It is fantastic to be able to say that after three years I am still so in love with this man. That every time he kisses me I still feel like a love sick teenager.
This little ring have so many hidden promises buried in it and I will not take it off until my engagement ring replaces it. So ladies, if you find a man like mine, who still believes in tradition and believe that treating a lady like a princes is not a blessing but the way it should be. Then keep him and make sure that you are the best that you can be. Be the one he deserves to have.
