If you look at the pictures of what is happening in our country for the last few weeks it will look like a scene from the movie the purge, but this is not just a 12 hour thing and this is reality for a lot of foreign nationals in our country.
Before I start with this post I would like to state that I do not mean to harm or offend anyone in any manner. Thes is merely my take and what I can see from what is happening in our country.
I live in a beautiful country, full of beautiful places and wonderful people. One of the most beautiful things for me is the sunrise over Sandton city. I work in the hustle and bustle city of Randburg, a stone throw away from Johannesburg where these horrible things are happening.
Earlier last week I had to go into Jhb CBD for work and got lost, girl alone, lost in the middle of jhb in the middle of a taxi rank with my phone in my hand trying to get the stupid gps to work, so that I can get out of this horrible place. I have never been so scared in my life. Especially with knowing that right around the corner this is happening and if I take the wrong turn I could be in the line of fire at any moment.
So what is really happening and is it really as bad as people say it is? Yes, it is, it is even worse than what you can imagine. I understand that people say that these are the people stealing our things, taking our jobs and raping our children, but what about the innocent ones? The ones making an honest living for themselves, working hard. Creating jobs for South African's that are struggling. Is this really the right way to get them out of the country? Should they not be allowed to live in a free country?
I know alot of people from Zimbabwe, DRC, etc. and it breaks my heart to think that this could happen to them or their families at any moment.
" They said they would come for foreigners. Groups of people going door to door on Friday night, asking people from which country they came from. Demanding identification documents" - Ngala a 21 year old mother from Zimbabwe, scared for her life and the life of her 11 month old baby.

Do they not know the bigger effect that this has on our beautiful country, what this will do to the economic and to our people in other countries? Can they not understand the impact that this has?
" In Nigeria, the newly-elected All People’s Congress (APC) together with civil society handed a memorandum to the South African embassy in Lagos on Wednesday, giving the government 48 hours to stop the violence, or else South African businesses in Nigeria would be shut down.
In MTN’s case, for example, the company has twice as many subscribers in Nigeria than it does in South Africa, with the Nigerian operation alone contributing 37% of group revenues. "

A peace march to protest against Xenophobia.
My aim with this post is not to put shame to our country, but to ask each and everyone of you to pray for the innocent people in our country, to stop this violence and for people to stop playing God over people's lives.
My prayers go out to the people who have lost so much, may you find peace through this horrible time.
